About 1-2 hours after your appointment, you will want to wash your tattoo. It will be tender and feel similar to sunburn.
Be sure to wash your hands priort to cleaning your tattoo.
It is important to clean off all of the residual gunk and excess ink. Use a light/mild soap and warm water and gently apply over the new tattoo and rinse.
Pat dry your tattoo with a clean towel and apply a light antibiotic ointment. Bacitracin ointment is recommended. Do not apply a thick layer of ointment, you want your tattoo to breathe.
Wear clean, loose fitting clothes over your tattoo, do NOT bandage it back up!-
Apply a very thin layer of ointment in the morning and following evening (2 - 3 times per day). After the 2nd day, unscented lotion can be used as needed (at least 2 times per day). Curel unscented hand/body lotion is recommended.
Note: A scented lotion will burn!

As your tattoo heals, you will notice flaky scab-like patches of skin that will probably itch. This is normal. Do not pick at this. If a scab is deep, it will remove color from the tattoo if it is picked off. Just continue to use lotion as needed.
Your tattoo will take about 2 weeks to fully heal. It is not recommened to soak your tattoo in a bath or pool until after it is healed to avoid infection and disruption to the healing process.
